Homemade Healthful Elderberry Syrup
1/2 cup dried elderberries
2 cups water
1 cinnamon stick
1/2 tsp chopped, fresh ginger root
2-4 whole cloves
A few whole peppercorns
1-2 tsp turmeric powder
Add all ingredients to a pot, bring to a boil, reduce to simmer, then cover and simmer until half way reduced.
Let cool slightly, then add 1/2 to 1 cup raw, local, honey.
Take 1 tblsp for your daily dose of vitamin C and antioxidants, or 1 tblsp every 3 hours to fight a cold or flu!
