Recording Buried in the Snow

Today is our second day in the studio to record Buried in the Snow. This very emotional and redemptive drama has the potential to reach countless souls for Christ. Please pray as our main two actors (a grandfather and grandson) have quite the grueling schedule for these three days. Please also pray for our producer/ director who have had minimal sleep for the last two weeks. A production of this scale is more labor intensive than most will ever know. I can only praise God that He has raised up men who are truly willing to sacrifice so much to make this possible.

If there was ever a time when men are standing in the gap it is now. Please pray for them as they direct and record these last two days.

Lamplighter is a non-profit Christian ministry dependent on the support of those who share its mission–to make ready a people prepared for the Lord, by building Christ-like character, one story at a time.

If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation toward this endeavor, please visit our website today!

Headed for the Airwaves

One of the biggest challenges in producing an audio drama intended for radio is actually getting it on the airwaves. Thankfully, we have had interest in our project from radio stations before we even began. We knew that when we had a finished product, we had a place to put it. And for us, that is just more evidence that God is in this and that He is directing our steps according to His plans. Here is a brief note from Rick Snavely, CEO and Network Manager of Family Life Network in Bath, NY after receiving “Defy the Darkness” and the accompanying promotional materials:

Mark,

Wow – I’m impressed! That’s quite a promotional package that you put together. How far along are you with the video concept? Will you have a video for each audio story that you produce? It looks like your going full-speed ahead with multiple engines. I’m excited for you!

A Story of Perseverance and Sacrifice

This past weekend a great effort was underway to produce a five minute excerpt of the new Sir Malcom and the Missing Prince Dramatic Audio to send to a very important meeting. Both our audio engineer and music composer spent their weekend working on this, and they did it free of charge. Once the sound designer completed the final mix of this demo, our producer John Fornoff raced around trying to find an open courier who could deliver the demo overnight to the meeting. No one was open, and he had just missed FedEx by five minutes. John was ready to book a flight to Texas in order to deliver the demo in time, but in a moment of wisdom, his wife urged him to contact a recording studio near where the meeting was to take place to see if they could help. Thankfully, a studio employee was working and was not only willing to receive the demo over the internet and record it to a cd, but to ensure it’s delivery to the meeting by 9 a.m. the next morning.

One of the most extraordinary things about working in ministry, is seeing God use people in ways you might never expect. The people that God has raised up to be a part of Lamplighter and Lamplighter Theatre are people of passion and vision, and the years they have spent in cultivating their skills have not blinded their eyes and ears to God’s call for sacrifice and faithfulness.
